TIME QUEST ( Time Travel Tondekeman )

Time Travel Tondekeman (たいむとらぶる トンデケマン! Taimu Toraburu Tondekeman?) is an anime series directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Akira Sugino. It was written by Junki Takegami and produced by Animax network president Masao Takiyama.

It was originally broadcast by Fuji Television[1] in Japan between 19 October 1989 and 26 August 1990. Time Quest, as it was called outside Japan, was first aired in the Philippines in 1994 by IBC-13. It was rerun in ABC-5 in 1999.

Story

The series starts when Hayato, a soccer enthusiast, and his girlfriend Yumi, an aspiring musician, went to a visit to Dr. Leonard's lab. They accidentally activated the Tondekeman, a funny talking kettle who transported them many centuries in the past[2].

In Baghdad, Hayato and Yumi gets reunited but they got separated from Tondekeman. They meet Aladdin, Prince Dandarn and Princess Shalala. They also meet the cunning Abdullah who is always ready to kidnap the princess so that he could marry the princess to his master.

Our heroes get to go to different places and times and meet several historical and literary figures as they follow Abdullah as he escapes through time to abduct the princess.

Hayato and Yumi are stuck in the past until they get Tondekeman from the possession of Abdullah.

Film : TOTALLY SPIES ( Character 1 )

Clover

Clover has medium length blond hair, blue eyes and a red catsuit when she's a spy. She holds a resemblence to Boom Boom from X-Men. Like Boom Boom, she messes around and doesn't like to take things seriously. She is considered to be the show's most stereotypical character: a shopping addicted, boy crazy, teenage "fashionista". She is always more concerned about her looks, boys, and the latest trends and fads than she is about her work as a spy. As a result, she is often (if not regularly) side-tracked on the missions. In fact, her priority focus on her social life has even begun to sometimes affected the entire team's performance. In the episode "Super Agent Much?", she was seen talking away on her cell phone while the spies were chasing a villain, resulting in the villain being able to escape. She often compares fashion to her work and is usually more concerned with trying to improve her social life and become more popular in different ways. She is normally (if not always) the first one to go against Mandy. Even though Clover is more focused on materialistic and superficial substances than her missions, she does understand the importance of friendship and teamwork. She will rise to the occasion and give villains what they deserve. Clover leads the team sometimes, as for example during the episode "Dental? More like Mental".

As a play on her concern about looks and boys, Clover's running gag is being drastically physically changed by villains. She is also usually tied up before it. She is often the most kidnapped, where Jerry once commented after Alex mentioned Clover was kidnapped that "That is the second time this month". Her running gag appears in episodes:

  • Episode 1: A Thing For Musicians - Clover hears Ricky Mathis's music and becomes a crazed fan of his.
  • Episode 10: Model Citizens - Clover, along with Sam and Alex, is modelized her body parts.

  • Episode 40: Stark Raving Mad - Clover, along with Sam and Alex, falls victim of the hypnotic music to raid and crush anything in her path for a short time , including at one point was about to throw a table at Jerry saying "Care to dance before you die!". But Jerry reverted her to normal.

  • Episode 55: Computer Creep Much? - Clover along with Sam is attacked by a computerized spider robot, yet unlike Sam she becomes unconscious while Sam was just an evil computer zombie since she was nerdy and was used to the virus , since Clover was attacked earlier, placed in one of the pods of the transmitter, and wasn't used to the contagious brain virus despite how she was unnerdy.
  • Episode 61: Super Nerd Much? - Clover, along with Sam and Alex, is turned into a nerd.
  • Episode 67: Super Agent Much? - Clover becomes a super agent under Geraldine's control.

  • Episode 96/97: Like, So Totally Not Spies - Clover, along with Sam and Alex, wears a bracelet, which causes her to forget that she is a spy in WOOHP.
  • Episode 104: Totally Busted (Part 3) - Clover, along with Sam and Alex, falls victim of the SUDS and becomes a spy-sassin.
  • Episode 110: Return of Geraldine - Clover's arms grow long.
  • Episode 111: Evil Sorority - Clover, along with Sam (who was transformed for a short time), is turned into a mind control sorority.
  • Episode 112: Evil Gymnasts - Clover is turned into a monkey.
  • Episode 118: Totally Mystery Much? - Clover, along with Sam, Alex, and Martin is turned into a Yeti, yet unlike the others she totally turned into a yeti while the others just have busy eyebrows and yeti growls, since Clover was injected with the DNA earlier.

Clover is the most flirtatious of the main group. She is known to have had an abundance of boyfriends and will do anything to get a guy. This is strange, because during her time at elemantary school, she was always bullied by her classmates and mainly by one boy, because they regarded her as being particularly easy to fox, as we are told in the episode "Spies vs Spies". The initial sub plot of part three of the episode "Evil Promotion Much?" had her struggling to find a date for her coming out party as she had dated every single boy in the city. Her love of boys can almost (if not entirely) be matched by her love of fashion and beauty.

Clover is the most intimately knowledgeable of her friends about pop culture topics, especially topics having to do with attractive male celebrities (for reasons stated above). She has been known to use questionable methods to obtain such information, but nothing truly illegal.

Being a stereotypical "American teenage girl", Clover speaks with a strong valley girl accent by saying things like "so totally", and adding the word "much?". Some episode are named after her accents.

Clover's style in the season 1-2 was mostly capris and pants. Later in seasons 3-5, she wore more skirts and dresses and she incorporated more high heels.

It is often said Clover's last name is Ewing. However, the show's creator says this is not true and is only a rumor.

She is strong as well, whereas in one ending she wants to show the people her muscles.

It is stated in episode "Zero to Hero" that she has a nephew. She is the only spy known to have a sibling.

She is sometimes a vegetarian, as stated on episodes such as "Here comes the sun" and "Spies on the farm". In "Another evil Boyfriend" while Blaine was doing research on Clover after being sent to annihilate her, he stated that her favorite mall is the Groove and her favorite eatery is the Veg Out.

Clover's alter ego is Crimson, from the first spy team before her.

Clover is voiced by Andrea Baker.

Sam

Samantha Simpson, usually referred to Sam, has long, wavy red hair with a widow's peak, green eyes, and a green catsuit. She is the most intelligent and uptight of the group. She uses her intelligence to create plans and diversions so that the girls can easily capture the villains. Sam also acts as the big sister to the group and keeps the girls in line. She's also sometimes lead the spies.

Sam, like Clover and Alex, enjoys shopping, and visiting salons, but she is not as interested as the others are unlike Clover, she always puts her studying or missions first. She is considered a little "nerdy" to a certain extent. Sam's style of dressing is considered to be "preppy hippie". She often wears long skirts, skirts, flowing tops, dresses, buttoned shirts, vests, jeans, chokers, boots, high heel sandal wedges, and rarely thin heels. These usually have flowers on them or she wears flowery accessories. However, she is also shown at many times to wear high top sneakers.

In the episode "Spies in Space", Sam gets called to the principal's office. It turns out that her grades are the best in BHHS history, and that she could graduate and go to college early, as well as having a scholarship to Harvard (her dream college). For a while, Sam shows off a bit, like when the victim comments that the spies were smart, Sam replied by saying, "It sure pays to be a college girl." However, at the end Sam chooses to stay in high school so that she can spend the rest of high school with Clover and Alex, and graduate together.

It is discovered in the episode "W.O.W." that Sam's maternal ancestresses were part of an ancient guild of warrior women. Clover and Alex attribute this as the reason why Sam has excellent leadership skills.

Most of Sam's love interests have brown/black hair and/or rather tan or light skin.

As a play on her intelligence, Sam is frequently brainwashed by villains as a running gag of the series.

Sam's running gag is in episodes:

  • Episode 06: Child's Play - Sam becomes childlike.
  • Episode 07: The Eraser - Sam is attacked by the blob, which causes her to lose her memory.
  • Episode 10: Model Citizens - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, is modelized her body parts.
  • Episode 11: Spy Gladiators - Sam is forced to wear a mind-control collar and turned into a gladiator.
  • Episode 24: Malled - Sam becomes a mall destroyer after a mind control device is paced on her.
  • Episode 39: W.O.W. - Sam is hypnotized by the power of the Ariel's stone belt and becomes a member of the W.O.W. .
  • Episode 40: Stark Raving Mad - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, falls victim of the hypnotic music to raid , crush everything in her path and attack Jerry for a short time. But after a few minutes Jerry reverted her to normal.

  • Episode 65: Scam Camp Much? - Sam's talent is stolen and she becomes the aggressive.
  • Episode 74: Power Yoga Much? - Sam is brainwashed and becomes Yoga warrior.
  • Episode 81: I Hate the Eighties - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, clothes are turned into dorky 80s outfits and act childish.
  • Episode 89: Mime Your Own Business - Sam, along with Alex, is turned into a mime.
  • Episode 95: Beauty is Skin Deep - Sam, along with Alex, is given a look which isn't changing.
  • Episode 96/97: Like, So Totally Not Spies - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, wears a bracelet, which causes her to forget that she is a spy at WOOHP.
  • Episode 104: Totally Busted (Part 3) - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, falls victim of the SUDS and becomes a spy-assassin.
  • Episode 106: Evil Roommate - Sam's smarts are used into Stacey's machine to use her smarts to do her homework for her.
  • Episode 111: Evil Sorority - Sam, along with Clover, is turned into a mind control sorority, but after few minutes Alex reverted Sam back to normal.
  • Episode 116: WOOHPersize Me! - Sam, along with Britney, becomes a WOOHPersizing minion when she hears Master Mario's hypnotic music.
  • Episode 121: Mime World - Sam is turned into a evil mime.

In the episode "Do You Believe In Magic?", Sam introduces herself as "Samantha Simpson" when she enters the Magician's castle. However, it is unconfirmed if this is her actual last name. She is also considered the most intelligent of the three, as stated in one episode where she met a French man who said she is smart.

Sam's alter ego is Pam, from the first spy team before her. She has a slight resemblance to Jean Grey, which Hale also voices on Wolverine and the X-Men, from the X-men ( not to mention Jean being one of the smartest x-men). Sam is also (unlike Clover) CONFIRMED to be a vegetarian, however she has been shown to eat meat and adore seafood. She is shown to be the most skilled at martial arts and flexible out of the group, despite not being the most athletic of the team. The most athletic being Alex. Sam is voiced by Jennifer Hale.

Dean

He is an agent from WOOHP like Sam, Clover, and Alex. He first appeared in "Evil Promotion Much?" as their trainer and he was later shown in "Deja Cruise" as Jerry's sidekick for Sam, Alex, and Clover's super spies test. The girls has shown some romantic interest in Dean and he is the only boy that can resist Clover. He is also the only male agent of WOOHP other than Jerry (and later Blane) to not have a minor role, such as numerous security guards. Dean returned in "WOOHP-tastic" and is put in charge of the WOOHP gadget lab. He is also present and takes part in the final battle in the series finale.

Dean is voiced by Greg Cipes.

G.L.A.D.I.S.

Gadget Lending And Distribution Interactive System. She was first introduced in the episode "Physics 101 much" as a gadget lending device, as the name suggests. She speaks with a female voice and appears to have a mind of her own, even sometimes claiming she is the true head of WHOOP. It is later revealed in "Evil G.L.A.D.I.S. much" that her brain is downloaded from a brilliant evil mastermind called "The Brain" who attempted to start a World War 3 by misleading nations into firing missiles at one another but did not have any evil downloaded into her. Alex spilled cranberry juice on her ad she became evil instantly because she shares the same allergy as "The Brain", which results in both being crazy after being spilled with cranberry juice. The only way that G.L.A.D.I.S. could turn back to normal was by having her mainframe pumped with a base to counteract the acid in the cranberry juice. G.L.A.D.I.S. is probably a reference to GLaDOS from the video game Portal, though it could just be coincidence (as G.L.A.D.I.S. appears on the show three years before Portal was released.). In "Evil Roommate" Jerry recycled her because of her attitude then Jerry does the gadgets for the girls again. She is not seen in Season 5 due to a dispute with Jerry. Her only mention of her disappearance is Jerry comments to the spies "G.L.A.D.I.S. has been transferred to the WOOHP recycling facility", though it is not known if G.L.A.D.I.S. was really placed there or it was a joke by Jerry meaning he scrapped her.

Film : TOTALLY SPIES ( Character 2 )

Alex

Alexandra, usually referred to Alex, has short black hair, brown eyes and sports a yellow catsuit. In "Game Girls" Alex one time had a bluish silver catsuit. She is an odd mixture between a tomboy and a girly girl: she is the most athletic and fitness minded spy of the team. She loves to play sports especially soccer and is always trying out some new fad diet. Alexandra is also the most naive and absent-minded. She sometimes is bit slow to some of the figures of speeches and takes them too literally.

She is also the most childish seeing as her oldest and dearest friend is a toy turtle named Ollie and she has a teddy bear backpack. In the episode Futureshock it was revealed that she still has Ollie even though she is in her thirties and keeps it under her pillow. She sometimes makes bad grades in school but eventually pulls it out in the end. Another characteristic of Alex is that she is always about keeping her friends happy. She often serves as a link between Clover and Sam who sometimes have meaningless squabbles (like one happening for a petty reason between Sam and Clover in season 1 episode "Abductions"). In "Wild Style", it is revealed that she is allergic to cats when Clover is turned into a cat human hybrid. However in Evil Mascot , she was seen holding, cuddling and stroking a cat without any allergic reactions. It is revealed in the yuck factor that Alex is somewhat squeamish and is against dissection. She is an animal lover, she likes petting zoos which is seen in Mime World and she cuddled a cat in Evil Mascot

Despite being the most athletic, she tends sometimes to be clumsy, and has been prone to bad luck. Alex is also the second girliest. She is very concerned about fashion and boys, sometimes to the same extremes as Clover (an obsession that Sam sometimes has trouble understanding). Another one of Alex's hobbies is eating. Even though she may be the most healthy, she likes to eat the most. In "Evil Valentine's Day" we see that she has a dream about candy. In the beginning part of the b-story in "The New Jerry" and the ending of "Animal World" we see her eating nonstop. During the 1st to 2nd season of Totally Spies, Alex was referred to as a bad driver. However, during the 3rd to 5th season, she is usually the one who is behind the wheel.

Alex, being extensively prone to bad luck, is also a usual victim of the villains, not unlike her friends. There is also a running gag on her unusual sense of taste as well as someone mentioning her terrible driving skills.

Alex's running gag is in episodes:

  • Episode 10: Model Citizens - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, had modelized body parts.
  • Episode 21: Soul Collector - Alex's youth is drained into Principal Smith.
  • Episode 34: Boy Bands Will be Boy Bands - Alex' face is switched into the Boy Candy's female manager's ugly face.
  • Episode 40: Stark Raving Mad - Sam, along with Clover and Alex, falls victim of the hypnotic music to raid, crush everything in her path and attack Jerry for a short time. Jerry reverted her to normal after a few minutes.
  • Episode 51: Fashion Faux Pas - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, try on the clothes that kill them.
  • Episode 54: Freaky Circus Much? - Alex is turned into a fishgirl.
  • Episode 61: Super Nerd Much? - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, is turned into a nerd.
  • Episode 69: Creepy Crawly Much? - Alex is partially turned into an insect queen.
  • Episode 70: Truth or Scare - Alex is given the truth serum and must tell the truth.
  • Episode 75: Head Shrinker Much? - Alex is turned into a cave woman.
  • Episode 81: I Hate the Eighties - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, clothes are turned into dorky 80s outfits and act childish..
  • Episode 82: The O.P. - Alex is mind controlled by the microchip.
  • Episode 84: Alex Gets Schooled - Alex becomes a brainwashed dolphin human hybrid.
  • Episode 89: Mime Your Own Business - Alex, along with Sam, is turned into a mime.
  • Episode 95: Beauty is Skin Deep - Alex, along with Sam, is given a facial expression which isn't changing.
  • Episode 96/97: Like, So Totally Not Spies - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, is dressed a bracelet, which causes to lose memory about WOOHP, and is soon unable to remember something about WOOHP.
  • Episode 99: Spy Soccer - Alex is turned into an ruthless soccer player.
  • Episode 104: Totally Busted (Part 3) - Alex, along with Sam and Clover, falls victim of the SUDS and becomes a spy-sassin.
  • Episode 123: The Show Must Go On... Or Else - Alex is turned into an old lady.

Alex is the only character to have her dad featured in the show. She also is the only character of the main group that we have not seen her house that she lived in with her parents.

When it comes to what she likes in a boy, Alex is not very picky, unlike Clover who likes muscled, nice, smart, and (according to the episode where she found a Love Computer), a name that starts with the letter "T". In 'Creepy Crawly Much?', where Clover and Sam have wonderful boyfriends, she picked a Goth who loved poetry.

Alex has the broadest variety of clothing out of the group. Usually she dresses trendy like Clover, or preppy and elegant like Sam, but other times she will wear a sportier type outfit. She usually will have on heels or flats but mostly she likes to wear tennis shoes. She is also shown to love to wear bunny pajamas.

Alex's alter ego is Alice, from the first spy team before her.

In season 1-2, Alex was voiced by Katie Leigh. Thereafter, she was voiced by Katie Griffin, famous for being the English dub voice for Sailor Mars.

Jerry

Gerald James Lewis, usually referred to Jerry, is the founder and administrator of WOOHP, the World Organization Of Human Protection. A middle-aged, very serious British gentleman, he is responsible for briefing the girls on their missions, as well as for providing them with their gadgets at the start of each episode. He also has a tendency to send the girls on "test missions" without telling them that it's fake.

Although he has a mostly hands-off role, Jerry has participated in a couple of the girls' missions. Despite his thin and nonathletic appearance, he has in fact demonstrated highly impressive combat and piloting skills superior to those displayed by the girls themselves, including running up (and down) the side of a building. Jerry appears in fewer episodes on Season 4.

In episode "The Yuck Factor", it is revealed that he is allergic to blueberries.

His mother was introduced in "Mommies Dearest". A rather overprotective, stereotypical British mother, she is unaware of Jerry's job at WOOHP as he has told her, as a cover-up, that he is in the guest house business. As such, she finds his erratic behavior around her (caused by his WOOHP job), such as "talking into wallets" and going onto the roof (to talk to the girls) as a reason to keep an eye on him.

In the series finale, she reveals that she was also a spy in her old days.

Despite being the leader of the world's top spy organization, the security surrounding Jerry is surprisingly lax, and he has been subverted on multiple occasions.

Despite being a master spy himself (or perhaps due to the pride that comes with his skill), he can be oblivious and inattentive. This is especially true when the girls are right and he is wrong (like in the episodes "Starstruck" and "0067").

Jerry has been somewhat cursed in his personal life in that all the people he relates to keep turning out to be super villains. His best friend in college, his ex-wife (Myrna Beesbottom, whom he married in "Evil Valentine's Day") and even his own twin brother Terence (Terry) have all been revealed as villains attempting to kill Jerry or destroy WOOHP. In the 1980s, he was a member of a little known band, Double Digits. He started WOOHP in the 70's and took ballet as a kid, which came in handy in Season 4 Episode "Sis-KaBOOM-Bah!" when he used some of the moves he knew to defeat a mind controlled Mandy.

It is also revealed that he actually enjoys whooping the girls (a term meaning a way of suddenly transporting the girls to WHOOP that usually if not always breaks the laws of physics), something that has been a running gag throughout the series and a constant annoyance to the girls. Where in one episode the spies took great pleasure in whooping him themselves. Also because of all of the security cameras there is, as quoted by Clover, "not a single inch of their lives he is not trespassing on".

Jerry is voiced by Jess Harnell in Season 1-2, and by Adrian Truss in Season 3-5.

Film : TOTALLY SPIES ( Character 3 )

Mandy Luxe

Mandy is Sam, Clover and Alex's rival at school. Being the model of the "popular teenager" stereotype, she is shown to be stylish, popular and pretty (at least in her own opinion) but also bratty, materialistic, snobbish, egocentric, arrogant, cruel and downright maleficent - and apparently she may have inherited these negative traits from her mother. She also has a high and squeaky voice with a nasal laugh. In "Ski Trip", it is implied that she hates, and doesn't know how to play chess. In the episode "Attack of the 50ft Mandy", Mandy is said to be 5' in 4 inches hills by Clover though this might be an exaggeration. She has been shown in multiple spy outfits, all of which are purple. In the episode "Evil Coffee Shop Much?", she joins the three spies but is lazy, leading to her losing her memories of the whole experience. It is implied that she does poorly in school as seen in "Dental? More Like Mental!" and "Alex Gets Schooled". Her last name is Luxe, a play on the word "deluxe."

The rivalry between Mandy and Clover is most pronounced, as they often compete for boys, popularity, and bragging rights. Mandy will go out of her way to annoy the girls and will even use dishonest means in order to do it. Mandy is also known to have a fan club called M.I.G. (Mandy Is Great), which Clover joined, not knowing it was a Mandy fan club. Clover was then forced to tickle Mandy's feet by the other club members, as she finds it the only way to relax.

In seasons 1-4, Mandy is often accompanied by her friends and yes-women Caitlin and Dominique, all rivals to the girls. However, it wasn't until season four that there was actually any loyalty between the three. Before then, they have each been shown to leave the others at the drop of a dime. At the start of season five, Mandy and her crew are separated as they all graduate from high school. While Mandy was to attend a ski school in Aspen, she stayed in Malibu to attend college with her cousin Mindy. Mandy and Mindy are seen together for most of season five, save for the finale.

In "Totally Busted", Mandy was infected by the SUDS, along with Caitlin and Dominique, and they were transformed into spy-sassins. They tried to kill the spies, but are all easily defeated. Later, Mandy, Caitlin and Dominique kidnapped their moms to Mandy's chalet at Sugarflake. The spies followed them there. After the alvanche incident, Mandy and her cronies kidnapped the spies to GROOVE. Learned about the SUDS, they're infected the spies with it and rescued the Inventor from the prison. Later, Mandy, her cronies and the Inventor plan to transform the whole world into army of spy-sassins, but are all easily defeated by the spies, who returned to normal, and their moms, who became spies. At the end, Mandy, Caitlin and Dominique returned to normal.

In finale of Totally Spies, Mandy breaks her nail and becomes good for Sam, Clover and Alex. Mandy returned Sam's, Clover's, and Alex's parking space that Mandy just forbade, paid for the clothes Sam, Clover, and Alex were just about to buy, and vacuumed their entire pent house room when they weren't looking. When she finds out Sam, Clover and Alex are spies, she goes back to her usual snobbish self because she believes "friends shouldn't keep secrets from each other".

Mandy is voiced by Jennifer Hale, like Sam.

Caitlin and Dominique

Caitlin has long, curly, black hair and dark skin. Though she doesn't say much, she has a snobby attitude and always backs Mandy up. Caitlin also has an older brother named Rick, who was a senior at Beverly Hills High School. As part of the "Spy Chic" fad, Caitlin's spy outfit is lime-colored. Caitlin is not seen after the episode "Evil Graduation", having graduated from "Bev High". She was voiced by Katie Leigh in season 1-2, similar to Alex. Caitlin is African American. She is Alex's rival.

Dominique has short, dark red hair, blue eyes and a snobby attitude. She is always there to support Mandy. Like Clover, she talks with a valley-girl accent. As part of the "Spy Chic" fad, Dominique's spy outfit is cyan. Dominique is also not seen after the episode "Evil Graduation", having graduated from "Bev High". She was voiced by Andrea Baker (similar to Clover) in seasons 1-2. She is Sam's rival.

Mindy

First appearing in Season 5 Episode "Evil Professor", Mindy is Mandy's cousin. After graduating high school, Mandy was supposed to attend a ski school in Aspen, but transferred to Malibu University (henceforth "Mali-U") to stay with Mindy. She is just as stuck up as Mandy, to the point of the two being referred to as the "Terror Twins". However, while Mandy is generally loud and aggressive, Mindy is calm and collected. Mindy speaks with a thick Southern drawl and her appearance is visually similar to Mandy's, but Mindy has short blond hair and a darker skin color. Her last name is possibly Luxe.

Mindy's last appearance is in episode #128. She is absent without explanation in the series finale.

David

David is a desirable guy in whom all three of the girls (as well as their nemesis Mandy) are romantically interested. He was introduced in the episode "It's How You Play The Game". He loves the arts: guitar playing, poetry, painting, etc. He also has a love of nature and history and hates rejection. In episodes David appears in, fans take note he seems not attracted to the girls, despite they remain having a "crush" on him. He mainly appeared in Season 2, and didn't appear in Season 3 but appeared in one episode in Season 4.

David works at the Groovy Smoothie Shack and he seems to be the jumping off point for many of Clover, Alex, and Sam's personal predicaments while they try to get him to notice them. This seems to befall Clover the most as she and Mandy compete for David's affections. David is blissfully oblivious to the girls' attempts to garner his attention and leaves the girls stunned with his smile as he leaves to go help at a soup kitchen or fulfill another duty.

David is voiced by Darryl Kurylo.

Arnold Jackson

Arnold is a classmate of the girls, and is apparently the stereotype of the school's geeks and nerds. Arnold is highly clever but socially inept, and tends to be a bit unpleasant. In some episodes, he acts as a sycophant and minion of Mandy's, yet in other episodes he gets teased by her. He mostly acts as an (unintentional) obstacle to the girls and their goals.

In the episode "Super Nerd Much?", Arnold accidentally acquired a magic ring that allowed him to steal the "coolness" from other people. The power quickly got to his head, and he turned into a supervillain intent on draining the coolness from everyone else in Beverly Hills, causing them to turn into nerds themselves. After a fight, he was eventually defeated by the girls with some assistance from a villainous magician who also wanted the ring. Like Mandy, his memory appeared to be erased by WOOHP and he was back at school the next day as though nothing had happened (albeit with a few residual memories he wrote off as part of a dream). He has also managed to defeat Clover and Mandy in contests for Head Cheerleader.

In the episode "Arnold the Great", he wants to be a superhero and dresses up as a comic book character. He is secretly taken advantage of by Geraldine Husk.

In the opening episode of Season 5 "Evil Graduation Much", Arnold graduated from Beverly High as the class valedictorian. In his graduation speech, he told off the entire senior class for mistreating him over the years, and left with the words "Goodbye, and good riddance!"

Film : TOTALLY SPIES ( Character 4 )

Blaine

Blaine is introduced in Season 5 Episode 108 "Evil Granny", as the captain of the Mali-U beach volleyball team. His interests are similar to Clover's which led to them dating within 5 minutes of his introduction. As season 5 has a more continuous story, Blaine's relationship with Clover is the first in the series to last for more than one episode (or any other girl for that matter). The next two episodes (#109 and #110) deal entirely with this relationship. It is revealed that he is actually a freelance spy sent by Geraldine Husk to eliminate Clover, however he was under the belief that Clover was an evil spy. However, Geraldine later uses Blaine as a trap to capture Clover. At the conclusion of his initial story arc, Blaine joins WOOHP and is assigned to the Australia branch, and is later joined by Britney as his new partner (much to Clover's disdain).

Blaine reappears in the final episode as one of the spies captured by "Agent X". After being freed, he assists the others in fighting the drones, but is quickly defeated, leaving Sam, Clover, and Alex, to finish the series' final battle. His relationship with Clover is still intact, almost kissing before Alex interrupted them.

Virgil Olivers

Virgil Olivers is the spies' boss for their job in the coffee shop. The spies are his best service, and he likes Alex. He first appears in "Evil Professor" Then in "Zero To Hero" Alex goes on a date with Virgil, but when she decide that they should be "just friends" as he constantly causes accidence while on their date, he doesn't want to give up and accidentally stumbles upon the girls in full Spy gear. This gives him a new idea to win Alex over. However, after being returned to normal from ingesting Muscle Growth Formula, they go on another date. Their relationship since then has never been touched upon, suggesting they agreed to stay "just friends".

He also has a notable fascination with coffee, keeping Sam, Clover, and Alex with their job when they gave him a super-sized coffee bean as a gift, as well as giving Sam a single coffee maker as a Secret Santa gift.

Gabriella Simpson

Gabby is Sam's mother. She wears her hair long like Sam's, though slightly curlier. Gabby's hair was originally brown, but it has since appeared the same color as Sam's. Gabby can be overprotective of Sam and only has her best safety in mind. Gabby's first appearance was in the season 2 episode "Mommies Dearest". She reappears in her final appearance in the season 4 finale "Totally Busted". During her short duration as a spy, her outfit is jade-colored. At the end of that episode, she becomes an official spy. She looks identical to her daughter Sam. Gabby makes no appearances in season 5 due to Sam being separated from Gabby.

Gabby is voiced by Jennifer Hale, just like Sam.

Stella

Stella is Clover's mother. She wears her hair like Clover's, but it was originally a lighter. Stella is a typical stern-but-lovable mother. Stella has made appearances in season two: "Mommies Dearest" (being controlled by evil Tim Scam to kill Clover) and "Zooney World", as well as her final appearance in the season 4 finale "Totally Busted!". During her short duration as a spy, her outfit is hot pink. At the end of that episode, she becomes an official spy. She looks identical to her daughter Clover. Stella makes no appearances in season 5 due to Clover being separated from Stella.

Stella is voiced by Kath Soucie in season 2 but changes to Andrea Baker in season 4 to match Clover.

Film : TOTALLY SPIES ( Character 5 )

Mrs. Lewis

She's Jerry's mother. She gets very annoyed with her son and believes Jerry is a hotel manager. She was a spy in her past. In the finale of Totally Dunzo! she becomes evil after a gen of evil falls into her cup of tea. She became a Mr. X and created robot drods to replace the spies after buying out WHOOP as a way to take over the world, but after the evil has disappeared she's returned to normal. It is also revealed she was a top spy back in her youth, something Jerry never knew.

Phoebe Luxe

Phoebe is Mandy's mother who also has a snooty nasal-like voice - which is a bit deeper than her daughter's. She has long black hair just like Mandy. She spoils Mandy, but at the same time gives her firm discipline (or at least she tries), especially when it comes to Mandy's (poor) grades. Phoebe debuted in "Forward to the Past" and later appeared in "Dental? More Like Mental", "Evil G.L.A.D.I.S Much?" in season three and "Alex Gets Schooled" in season four. Phoebe spoiled Mandy since Mandy's birth, but it's unknown what became of her husband. Phoebe makes no appearances in season 5 due to Mandy being separated from Phoebe. Quotes from "Alex Gets Schooled":

Mandy: (shrieks) "F's?! But how is that possible?"

Phoebe: "You are grounded for the rest of the year, young lady. And that means no dates.

Mandy: (shrieks) "You can't be serious! The boys of Bev Hills will be lost without me!"

Phoebe is voiced by Jennifer Hale, like Mandy, Sam, and Gabby.

Alex's Father

In "Alex Gets Schooled", Alex's father, along with Carmen, decided to send Alex to a British boarding school called Dorsal Academy when they thought Alex was failing all her classes, although this report card is really Mandy's report card. Alex's parents changed their mind when they realized that Alex's report card contained As and Bs, not failures. Alex's father makes no appearances in season 5 due to Alex being separated from her parents. He is the only father of the Spies to be shown throughout the series.

Carmen

Carmen is Alex's mother. She wears her hair similar to Alex's, but it was originally dark brown with more layers and a darker skin/eyes tone. She looks like Vivian Munroe, Storm's sister, from X-Men: Evolution. Her main goal and focus is for Alex to get a boyfriend. Carmen made an appearance in the season 2 episode "Mommies Dearest", the season 4 episode "Alex Gets Schooled", and her final appearance in the season 4 finale "Totally Busted". During her short duration as a spy, her outfit is royal blue. At the end of that episode, she becomes an official spy. She looks identical to her daughter Alex. Carmen makes no appearances in season 5 due to Alex being separated from her parents.

Carmen is voiced by Katie Leigh in season 2 and Katie Griffin in season 4, exactly like Alex.
